We Are Looking For An Art Director To Join Our fAmélie

Amélie Company is seeking a talented and concept-driven Art Director to join our creative team. This role is responsible for developing compelling visual concepts and creative solutions across integrated advertising and marketing campaigns. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, exceptional designer, organized and collaborative partner who can transform insights and creative briefs into engaging, effective work across multiple channels.

 

The Art Director will work closely with copywriters, designers, strategists, account teams, and production partners to create breakthrough creative that delivers results for our clients. This position requires a strong understanding of branding, advertising, digital marketing, social media, and visual storytelling.

 

Candidates must reside in the Denver metropolitan area and be available for regular in-person collaboration, client meetings, presentations, and agency events.

Amélie is a mission-driven agency in Denver who delivers campaigns to educate and inform our audiences about public needs (e.g. traffic safety, health issues, education, etc.). We are dedicated to creating work that benefits communities and makes a difference.


Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with copywriters and fellow creative team members to develop innovative campaign concepts and integrated marketing solutions.
  • Translate creative briefs, strategic objectives, and audience insights into compelling visual ideas and executions.
  • Collaborate with strategy, account service, and production teams throughout the creative process.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions, campaign development, and creative reviews.
  • Design and direct creative work across multiple channels, including:
    – Digital advertising
    – Social media
    – Print
    – Out-of-home (OOH)
    – Video/TV
    – Website and interactive experiences
  • Create polished presentations for both internal stakeholders and client-facing meetings.
  • Present concepts and creative rationale confidently to internal teams and clients.
  • Provide constructive creative feedback and maintain high standards of design excellence.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced agency environment.
  • Collaborate with production teams and vendors during photography, video production, post-production, and final asset delivery.
  • Contribute headline, messaging, and copy ideas when appropriate.
  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and evolving social platforms.
  • Manages and mentors designers through effective delegation, consistent oversight, and clear feedback.

Required Qualifications

  • 5-6+ years of experience in an advertising agency, marketing agency, or similar creative environment.
  • Available for in-person client presentations, agency meetings, and collaborative team gatherings.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating conceptual thinking and integrated campaign work.
  • Exceptional design, typography, layout, and visual storytelling skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including:
    – Photoshop
    – Illustrator
    – InDesign
  • Knowledge of Figma
  • Deep understanding of advertising principles, branding, and consumer engagement.
  • Experience developing creative across digital, social, print, video, and experiential channels.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to think conceptually and strategically, not just execute design.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience directing or participating in scripted videos and commercial productions.
  • Video editing or motion graphics experience.
  • Copywriting or headline development skills.
  • Photography direction experience.
  • Experience working with government, healthcare, or highly regulated industries.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $75,000 – $85,000 annually, based on experience
